Uribe als Dozent? Nein, danke!

Die Ernennung von Uribe zum Professor an der ENIM ist kein Zufall. Sie ist die Konsequenz der Vergabe von Verträgen für die Modernisierung der kolumbianischen Bildungszentren (SENA) seitens der kolumbianischen Regierung während Uribes Amtszeit. Uribe war im Übrigen bei dieser Gelegenheit bereits zum „Ingenieur der ENIM honoris causa" ernannt worden. Angesichts seiner Verwicklung in diese schwerwiegenden Affären in seinem Heimatland hatte er bereits versucht, sich durch die Ernennung zum Professor der Universität Georgetown Respekt zu verschaffen.
Dieser Versuch war jedoch in akademischen Kreisen und bei der Zivilgesellschaft in den USA auf nachdrücklichen Widerstand gestoßen. Wir fordern heute alle französischen und europäischen Bürgerinnen und Bürger auf, heute dasselbe zu tun und mit uns die Ernennung Alvaro Uribes an der ENIM anzuprangern. Wir fordern diese Bildungseinrichtung auf, so rasch wie möglich den Vertrag, der ihr Schande macht, rückgängig zu machen.
Wir sind der Auffassung, dass das europäische Bildungswesen nicht dafür herhalten kann, Personen, die Menschenrechtsverletzungen begangen haben, rein zu waschen, und dass Alvaro Uribe sich vor der kolumbianischen Justiz oder andernfalls dem Internationalen Strafgerichtshof für die Menschenrechtsverletzungen verantworten muss, für die er verantwortlich ist.
